COMBINED FORCES COMMAND AFGHANISTAN RELEASE

KABUL, Afghanistan, May 08, 2004 -- In coordination with the Islamic Transitional Government of Afghanistan, Combined Forces Command-Afghanistan continues to train the Afghan National Army, provide civil affairs support, and disrupt, deny, and destroy terrorist and anti-ITGA forces in order to establish a stable and secure Afghanistan.

A cache was found Wednesday east of Ghazni in Qal'a-l-kuhna Village. A cache was also found south of Tarin Kowt that day. One cache at each location was found Thursday also near Ghazni, Tarin Kowt and Orgun-E. Thurday's caches consisted of 10 107mm rockets, 104 RPG rockets, 50 RPG boosters, bomb making material, 2 61mm mortar rounds, 2 signal flares, 100 AK-47 rounds, and several small arms weapons.

The Ghazni PRT gave elders of Spendi Ulya Village 25 mats, 2 tents for schools, 2 schools-in-a-box and 100 Grundig radios.

The Kunar Province Highway Patrolman Academy begins on Sunday.
