General Dynamics Awarded $15.7 Million Ammunition Contract

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), announced today that the Department of the Army–Field Support Command, Rock Island, Ill., has awarded the company a $15.7 million firm-fixed-price contract to produce 1,468,550 rounds of 30mm PGU-15/B Target Practice (TP) Cartridges.

The U.S. Air Force uses the PGU-15/B TP Cartridge in the GAU-8/A gun system on the A-10 combat aircraft. Work will be performed at the company’s Marion, Ill. facility, and is expected to be completed by May 2005.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems manufactures large- and medium-caliber ammunition and precision metal components; provides explosive load, assemble and pack services for a variety of tactical missile and rocket programs; and designs and produces shaped charge warheads and control actuator systems.
