The talks wrapped up a four-day session on Friday (May 7) in Pyongyang.
- Indian Air Force Jaguar crashes near Ambala, pilot safe IRNA 08 May 2004 -- An Indian Air Force Jaguar fighter aircraft Friday crashed within three minutes of take off from the airbase at Ambala, in the northern Indian state of Haryana, but the pilot, Flt Lt Tamaskar, bailed out safely.

- ARAFAT/PALESTINIANS VOA 08 May 2004 -- Palestinian President Yasser Arafat said Saturday it is still possible to establish an independent state for his people by 2005, as called for in the international road map for peace plan. He was reacting to a statement by President Bush that expectations of reaching this goal by next year are unrealistic.
- SUDAN/DARFUR VOA 08 May 2004 -- An international mission led by the African Union met with officials in the Sudanese capital Khartoum Saturday in preparation for a tour of the war-torn Darfur region of western Sudan. U-N human rights officials say civilians in the region face widespread atrocities at the hand of government-backed militias.
