ANTI-COALITION FORCES ATTACK IRAQI CIVILIANS

MOSUL, Iraq - Anti-Coalition forces conducted a series of attacks in Mosul against civilian targets killing and injuring Iraqi civilians and Iraqi Police April 25.

At 9:25 a.m., a rocket-propelled grenade was fired at an Iraqi Police station in northern Mosul. There were no reported injuries in this attack.

At 9:30 a.m., Iraqi Police reported the Shiddiq Rashan mosque in northeast Mosul, was attacked by mortars or rockets. There were no injuries or damage reported.

At 9:30 a.m. an explosion at the Al Razy Hospital in southeastern Mosul killed two Iraqi civilians, and wounded 10 Iraqi civilians. The exact type of munitions used in this attack is not known at this time.

At 9:45 a.m. two other attacks occurred. A mortar round landed in the parking lot of the Ashour Hotel in central Mosul, killing two Iraqi civilians and injuring three Iraqi civilians.

In the second 9:45 a.m. attack, two 122mm rockets exploded near a police station in southern Mosul. Two Iraqi police were wounded in this attack and were transported to a local hospital. Coalition forces found and destroyed an unexploded third rocket.

There have been unconfirmed reports of several other attacks around Mosul. Coalition forces are working with the Iraqi Police to determine the validity of these reports.

Coalition forces did not conduct any of these attacks in Mosul. These were cowardly acts directed against Iraqi people by terrorists and criminals.
