CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (NNS) -- Rear Adm. George E. Mayer, Chief of Naval Air Training, has relieved Capt. Chaunce Mitchell, commander, Training Air Wing (TW) 6, of command due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command.

Mitchell, who commanded TW-6 since March 7, 2001, was relieved April 23 by Mayer following non-judicial punishment proceedings for personal misconduct.

Capt. Lee Little, who was originally scheduled to take command May 13, assumed command of TW-6 April 23. Mitchell's future assignment has yet to be determined.
