Hamilton Sundstrand to continue to provide electric system for V-22 Osprey

ROCKFORD, USA- North America, Illinois, Apr 13, 2004

Hamilton Sundstrand announced today that it has been selected by The Boeing Company to supply the electric power system for Lot 8 Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey aircraft.

A follow-on order, Hamilton Sundstrand has already supplied more than 60 integrated drive generator-based electric power systems for this aircraft. At the completion of Lot 8, Hamilton Sundstrand will have delivered 83 shipsets for the V-22 Osprey.

“We are proud that Hamilton Sundstrand continues to be Boeing’s electric power system of choice for this unique vertical and short take-off and landing, or V/STOL aircraft,” says Mark Spana, general manager of defense systems in the Electric Systems business enterprise, based in Rockford.

“I believe that our commitment to quality and schedule, plus our strong working relationships with the V-22 program management team, helped us clinch this follow-on contract,” Spana said.

The company will begin delivering production hardware in March of 2005.
