1st Infantry Division Soldier Killed, Four Wounded
TIKRIT, Iraq -
One 1st Infantry Division Soldier was killed and four others were
wounded when a combat patrol was attacked near Samarra at about 4:35
p.m. April 11.
Soldiers from 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment and AH-64 Apache
helicopters were alerted to provide assistance. The wounded were
evacuated to a nearby military medical facility. The wounded Soldiers
were in stable condition.
The name of the Soldier killed is being withheld pending next of kin
notification.
The incident is under investigation.
