            The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. 

            Spc. Michael R. Woodliff, 22, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died March 2 in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device struck his convoy.  Woodliff was assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1^st Battalion, 37^th Armor Regiment, 1^st Armor Division, Friedberg, Germany. 

            The incident is under investigation.
