Curtis Wilbur visits Osaka

OSAKA, Japan -- USS Curtis Wilbur (DDG 54) arrived in here March 6, making her first port visit to the city.
More than 300 Sailors will enjoy liberty in Osaka, and are sure to boost the local economy by spending thousands of dollars during their visit.
Cmdr. Alan J. Abramson commands USS Curtis Wilbur, an Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer. Abramson is anticipated to meet with several local community and Business leaders during his stay.
Curtis Wilbur is one of seven ships assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15 and operates out of Yokosuka, Japan. The commodore of DESRON 15 is Capt. Sam Perez, who is embarked aboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63).
Curtis Wilbur is part of the Kitty Hawk Strike Group, the Navy's only permanently forward-deployed carrier strike group, and operates from Yokosuka, Japan.
