RAFAEL to install ConNect at IAF C2 Centers

RAFAEL to Deliver Advanced C4I System to the Israeli Air Force Command and Control Centers

24 February 2004 -- RAFAEL Armament Development Authority Ltd. has been declared a winner in an Israel Ministry of Defense tender for the development and deployment of a major C4I system to the Israeli Air Force Command and Control (C&C) Centers.

The system, based on RAFAEL’s C4I - ConNeCT Solution, is a converged military IP network that provides the ground Command & Control center with a complete and advanced solution for all C4I applications, including voice (telephony & intercom), video (VoD, conferences), data and radio. The C4I - ConNeCT solution is based on Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products and technologies, such as Voice over IP (VoIP) and Network Management, adapted to military customers.

In addition to the IAF, RAFAEL’s C4I - ConNeCT solution is generating much interest in air forces, armies and navies worldwide. The solution is modular and scalable, providing a full communication network suite (including a Voice Communication System (VCS) for deployed C&C centers, mobile C&C shelters, naval platforms, nationwide C&C centers, as well as homeland/border security centers. The Voice Communication System incorporated in RAFAEL’s C4I - ConNeCT solution is based on the Radio over IP (RoIP) technology, in which RAFAEL is a world leader. Rafael has successfully supplied stationary and mobile RoIP VCS to several international customers.
