RAFAEL Introduce Full Spectrum Solutions at Asian Aerospace
RAFAEL Brings its Full Spectrum Solutions to Asian Aerospace
12 February 2004 -- RAFAEL Armament Development Authority Ltd, will display its full spectrum of air defense solutions at the Asian Aerospace Exhibition in Singapore, 24-29 February, 2004. These solutions include a complete Sensor-to-Shooter concept, Helicopter Survivability and Upgrades and Aircraft Survivability.
RAFAEL will exhibit its ability to shorten the Sensor-to-Shooter cycle by using its Skylark Mini-UAV and RecceLite for reconnaissance and surveillance, Litening for navigation and targeting, Top scan – for accurate Geolocation and early warning of Radar threats, Golden Bay and Blue Bay for Command and Control and Spice for ultimate target destruction. Dr. Eitan Yudilevich, VP Marketing and Business development at RAFAEL claims "that these systems, working together, can cut the critical Sensor-to-Shooter cycle down to 10 minutes, enabling substantially more efficient targeting acquisition and subsequent target destruction."
Helicopter Survivability and Upgrades is another of RAFAEL's full spectrum solutions, consisting of the REAPS (Rotorcraft External Airbag Protection Suite), RITA (Inertial Terrain Aided navigation System), Top Scan – an accurate RF threat identification and localization system and Aerogem - an Electro-Optic Protection Suite based on a passive Missile Warning System operating in the EO spectrum, a compact high performance directional IR counter measure and a Chaff Flare Dispensing System. Each of these systems provides the utmost survivability for helicopters and their crews. In addition, RAFAEL will be displaying its SPIKE-ER multi-purpose missile as part of the HeliCOAT complete avionics and weapon upgrade suite for combat helicopters.
Two unique products that RAFAEL is exhibiting this year are at the core of Aircraft Survivability - Sky Shield and X-Guard. Sky Shield is an airborne EW support jamming system that protects the friendly attacking forces against hostile radar emitters and missiles by providing a safe-flight corridor. The Sky Shield is based on former generations of similar systems developed by RAFAEL. The system works within the parameters of the Suppression of Enemy Air Defense (SEAD) System by providing a non-lethal, highly effective EW shield. X-Guard, an advanced, fibre-optic towed decoy system, is RAFAEL's exceptional solution for luring attacking missiles away from an airborne platform by providing deception techniques and attractive false target signals, which divert the attacking missile. The missile explodes far away from the aimed platform and the retrievable X-Guard is ready to be used again. X-Guard defeats both radar systems and homing seekers.
RAFAEL designs, develops, manufactures and supplies a wide range of advanced defense systems for all branches of the Israel Defense Forces and other Armed Forces worldwide. These leading edge products are based on RAFAEL's vast technical and operational experience. In addition to its defense technologies, the company has also formed partnerships with civilian counterparts to develop commercial applications based on its proprietary technology. RAFAEL is the second largest government-owned defense company in Israel with nearly 5000 employees and sales in 2003 of $800M.
