
Nord-Micro teams with Ratier-Figeac on A400M Propeller program
WINDSOR LOCKS, USA- North America, Connecticut, Feb 12, 2004
Nord-Micro of Frankfurt, Germany, a Hamilton Sundstrand business unit, will participate in the propeller program for the A400M Military Transport Aircraft that was awarded to Ratier-Figeac on July 24, 2003. Ratier-Figeac of Figeac, France, is also a Hamilton Sundstrand business.
Nord-Micro will develop and manufacture the De-Icing Timer, part of the propeller de-icing system for Ratier-Figeac’s state-of-the-art FH386 propeller. “We are excited to be part of this program, which opens a new field of business for
Nord-Micro, and we look forward to a fruitful partnership with Ratier-Figeac,” said Kai Liebig, Nord-Micro’s director of marketing and sales.
The A400M is a large military transport being developed for several European countries. It is expected to enter service by 2010.
Nord-Micro employs about 420 people and provides cabin pressure control systems, ventilation control systems and components as well as a variety of other products for commercial and military aircraft.
Hamilton Sundstrand, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE: UTX), employs about 16,000 worldwide and is among the world’s largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products.
