WASHINGTON, Feb. 4, 2004 - Soldiers conducting a cordon-and-search operation near Fallujah, Iraq, captured a man suspected of conducting rocket attacks on coalition field operating bases, Combined Joint Task Force 7 officials announced in a news release today.

The captured suspect was the target of the operation. The soldiers -- from 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division - confiscated 10 57 mm rockets, a 122 mm rocket, an AT-5 anti-tank missile, seven circuit boards and a variety of ammunition.

Today's news release also summarized other Task Force "All American" activity that had taken place in the previous 24 hours.

The task force conducted 239 patrols during that period, including three joint patrols with Iraqi security forces, and conducted three offensive operations. Iraqi Civil Defense Corps personnel conducted 16 independent patrols.

Paratroopers on a combat patrol in the area responded to a mortar attack at the Abu Ghuraib prison. They cordoned off and searched the area, captured 11 suspects, and confiscated three AK-47 assault rifles and some flares.

At border crossings in Trebil and Husayba, soldiers denied entry to 23 people and 17 people, all for a lack of passports.
