Top Al-Qaeda leader killed in Pakistan in October

Islamabad, Jan 24, IRNA - One of the senior Al-Qaeda operatives was killed in Pakistan`s tribal areas last October, military sources said. Pakistan Army Spokesman Major General Shaukat Sultan told Geo TV Saturday that Abdul Rahman Khaddar was an Egyptian-born national of Canada and was a most-wanted leader of the organisation. Sources said his body was identified through DNA tests. Earlier, a separatist Chinese leader, Hassan Masoom, was also identified from among the eight suspects killed during the October 2 operation in Wana. Two Pakistani troops were also killed in the operation. TK/TSH/214 End
