2004-01-24 15:43:28

Singapore, Jan. 24 (CNA) The Eurofighter Typhoon is currently in a dogfight with Boeing's F-16 and the French-made Rafale for the US$1-billion contract to replace Singapore's aging A-4 Skyhawk jet fighters.

Recently, Craig Penrice, a test pilot for the state-of-the-art Eurofighter Typhoon, told Channel NewsAsia that he considers it the best of the three fighters in contention.

Singapore's Defence Ministry is not expected to make its final decision until 2005.
