TASK FORCE "ALL AMERICAN" OPERATIONS CONTINUE TO SECURE AL ANBAR

RAMADI, Iraq - Task Force "All American" continued missions on 23 Jan. to bring peace and prosperity to the residents of the Al Anbar province.

At 12:30 a.m., in the 3rd Brigade Combat Team's area of operation, soldiers from 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, conducted a cordon and search of two locations northeast of Fallujah to kill or capture anti-coalition forces. The operation resulted in the capture of the primary targets. Soldiers also confiscated five small arms weapons, 13 mortar fuses, one grenade, 1,000 50 calibre rounds, a fire direction computer, radio equipment and a remote detonator for potential use with IEDs.

At 2 a.m. in the 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division's AO, elements of Task Force 1-34 conducted a cordon and search in Khalidiyah to kill or capture anti-coalition forces. The operation resulted in the capture of three enemy personnel in the target house.

At 3 p.m., Task Force "All American" engineers identified three 122mm rounds along Highway 10 east of Ar Ramadi. The rounds were buried 6-8 inches deep in the median. An explosive ordnance disposal team moved to the site and recovered the munitions.

With the support and cooperation from the local community, the relentless combat operations carried out by Task Force "All American" soldiers are removing anti-coalition personnel, the illegal weapons they use and their negative influence from the Iraqi community, improving the overall security and safety of the Al Anbar province. The removal of these individuals and these weapons is vital to the success of Task Force "All American" in their efforts to stabilize, safeguard and secure the region.
