TASK FORCE "ALL AMERICAN" CONTINUES STABILITY OPERATIONS
RAMADI, Iraq - The 82nd Airborne Division and its subordinate units continued missions over the last day to bring peace and prosperity to the residents of the Al Anbar province.
Task Force "All American" conducted 187 patrols, to include eight joint patrols, cleared five caches and conducted six offensive operations. There were five contacts with anti-coalition forces, in which there were no Task Force "All American" casualties or equipment damaged and 19 anti-coalition members were captured.
Last night at 11 p.m., Task Force "All American" conducted a cordon and search, which resulted in the capture of three enemy personnel, one of which is believed to be the primary intelligence officer for all insurgent groups in Ar Ramadi.
Civil Affairs personnel continued with an accelerated pistol training and issuance program. They have issued 120 Glock-19 handguns and are conducting training for police officers in the Iskandariyah, Eskan, and Haswah Police Departments. Civil Affairs personnel met with local officials in Khalidiyah to initiate payment for repairs to nine schools. Civil Affairs teams are also working with the Ar Rutbah officials to address fuel smuggling.
During the meeting, the police chief requested that a joint operation be conducted with the ICDC and Iraqi Police. This request reflects the growing confidence in ICDC forces and a desire to secure their own community.
These operations conducted by Task Force "All American" display the dedication the 82nd Airborne Division and its subordinate units have toward the Iraqi people. These continued efforts will provide a solid foundation in the reconstruction of a safe and free Iraq.
