Israeli defense minister arrives in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 22, IRNA - Israeli Defense Minister, Amos Yaron, arrived here Monday morning on a two-day official visit to work out the schedule for the first joint services by two countries to be held early next year. Yaron and his accompanying defense delegation, according to sources in India`s Defense ministry were received at the airport by Defense ministry protocol officer, P.C.Pandey among other high ranking Indian officials. Israeli Defense minister will hold one-to-one meetings with his Indian counterpart George Fernandes and also hold delegation level talks. The three Indian chiefs, Admiral Madhvendra Singh, Air Chief Marshal S.Krishnaswamy and Army Chief General N.C.Vij will call on Yaron. According to some reports, the delegation level talks between the two countries are going to focus on acquisition by India of the Israeli air borne air warning radar Phalcon, close collaboration for producing Israeli unmanned aerial vehicles and on ongoing purchase by India of ground sensors and other surveillance equipment. /213 End
