TASK FORCE "ALL-AMERICAN" HELPS CLEAN UP AL ANBAR
The 82nd Airborne Division and attached units also known as Task Force "All American," continued operations within the Al Anbar province to provide security and assistance to the Iraqi people. These missions continue to move Iraq toward a free and sovereign nation.
Civil Affairs personnel met with local officials in Nassir Wa Al Salaam and made an initial payment of $3,000 for rehabilitation efforts at the Al Anwal primary school. The school has not been maintained since it was built. The project will positively affect 900 students, cost $10,000, and be completed on Jan.15.
Teams also met with local officials to identify potential landfill sites because the current location, established before the Coalition's arrival, creates a health hazard and safety concerns for local citizens. The new landfill will be used during the clean-up of Highway 10 from Habbaniyah to Ar Ramadi. This project will enhance public safety while providing additional employment opportunities. Additionally, teams also finalized plans for a 200-meter extension on the Abdullah Bin Al Mubarek Sewage Canal renovation project. This will significantly improve sanitation conditions in the Hit community.
Soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division, 1st Infantry Division, and 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment remain committed in rebuilding Iraq and ending violence throughout the Al Anbar province.
