TASK FORCE "ALL-AMERICAN" CONTINUES IMPROVING AL ANBAR PROVINCE

AR RAMADI, IRAQ - The 82d Airborne Division and attached units, also known as Task Force "All American," continued operations within the Al Anbar Province to provide security and assistance to the Iraqi people. Progress in security is enabling uninterrupted reconstructive efforts. These missions continue to move Iraq toward a free and sovereign nation.

Civil Affairs personnel met with representatives from the Al Faris State Company to inspect the progress made on the installation of two one-megawatt generators. The generators are operational and the plant is expected to hire an additional 800 employees due to its increased capacity.

Civil affairs teams received approval from the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) to begin repairs to five primary schools in Ar Ramadi. The CPA-funded project will cost $288,000 and will positively impact over 2000 students annually.

Teams also met with local engineers in the Al Qa'im area and reviewed the status of the Ubaydi Pontoon Bridge repair project. All materials will come from the Road and Bridges Ministry and coalition forces will pay $8000 for local labor to repair the bridge. This cost-sharing project highlights the expanding role that Iraqi leaders are taking within their respective communities to repair their infrastructure.

Soldiers from Task Force "All American" remain committed to rebuilding Iraq and providing economic stability to the people of Al Anbar.
