TASK FORCE "ALL AMERICAN" CAPTURES FINANCIER, TRAINS ICDC, AND CONDUCTS CIVIL AFFAIRS OPERATIONS

The 82d Airborne Division and attached units, also known as Task Force "All American," continued security operations and civil affairs projects within the Al Anbar Province.

During the past 24 hours, the 82nd Airborne Division and subordinate units performed 187 patrols, including six joint patrols with the Iraqi Border Guard and Iraqi police.

In 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division's areas of responsibility, paratroopers conducted three simultaneous cordon and searches in Haswah. One high value target is on the list because he is a financier of anti-coalition activities. Two other individuals were targeted for their involvement in improvised explosive device (IED) attacks. With the assistance of Iraqi police forces, the operations were successfully conducted with the capture of all three targets.

Task Force "All American" continued training 170 ICDC recruits who will graduate tomorrow. In addition, 121 new ICDC recruits were in-processed this morning for the next class.

Civil Affairs (CA) teams met with local officials in Habbaniyah to conduct an assessment and prepare statements of work for restoration of the Habbaniyah Directorate Office, courthouse, and water department. The team made an initial payment of $6000 to begin the repairs and restore the city buildings to a functional state. CA teams also established a Civil Military Operations Center (CMOC) at the Ar Ar border crossing in preparation for the Hajj. The CMOC will interact with local officials and the local populace to assist pilgrims during this holy period.

Cooperation efforts between Iraqis and Task Force "All American" continue to grow, as forces remain committed to providing a more secure environment in the Al Anbar Province.
