
General Dynamics Awarded $34.7M Modification for Submarine Tactical Control System
ARLINGTON, Virginia – The U. S. Navy has awarded General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), a $34.7 million modification to a previously awarded contract for the continued development of the submarine Tactical Control System.
This contract includes development and production, including improvements, upgrades, technology refreshment, and integration of advanced processing builds for the next generation of the Tactical Control System, which provides contact management tools and tactical control functions as part of the Navy's Mk2 Combat Control System aboard submarines.
Work under this modification will include systems engineering, architecture design, software engineering, prototype development, integration, development and testing. Work will be performed in Fairfax, Va., and is expected to be completed by December 2004.
This award modifies a contract originally awarded in December 2002 to Digital Systems Resources, Inc., which was acquired by General Dynamics and became part of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems in September 2003. Including this modification, the cumulative value of the contract is $44 million.
