Kirloskar to lead Indian Defense industry mission to Israel

New Delhi, Nov 22, IRNA -- Atul Kirloskar, chairman of Kirloskar Oil Engines, will lead a 20-member defense industry mission of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) to Israel from Sunday (Nov 23-29). According to a press release of Confederation of Indian Industries, a copy of which was received by IRNA on Saturday, the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in association with the Indian Embassy in Israel, the ELUL Group and the Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute is organizing a 20-member Defence mission to Israel from 23rd to 29th November 2003. CII is organizing this 1st CII Defense Industry Mission to Israel with the primary objectives of promoting Joint Ventures, Partnerships and Collaboration between Indian and Israeli companies. This Mission is especially relevant in the era of the opening up of the Indian economy to 26 percent Foreign Direct Investment in Defense, the release said. The CII Defense Industry Mission is participating in a Conference hosted by the Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute (IEI) with participation from over 160 representatives of Israeli companies. This conference has participation from Senior Government and Industry Officials and will be addressed by Shraga Brosh, Chairman, IEI, Oded Tira, President, Manufacturers Association of Israel, David Kolitz, Founding Chairman, Elul Group, R.S. Jassal, Ambassador of India to Israel and Maj Gen (Retd.) Yossi Ben - Hanan, Head of Sibat, IMOD. The CII Defence Industry Mission will also network with Israeli companies for technology tie-ups and joint ventures. There will be organised visits to the IAI Israel Aircraft Industries Ltd, Israel Military Industries (IMI), Reshef Technologies Ltd., Ness Technologies, Ashot Ashkelon Industries Ltd., Ortek, subsidiary of Elbit Systems, Tefen Industrial Park, Rafael, Armament Development Authority Ltd. and Carmel Forge Ltd. The Mission led by Kirloskar is scheduled to have one to one interactions with Israeli defense industries for collaboration, partnership and joint ventures. The Mission comprises senior Industry representatives in India. The delegation`s areas of interest include: armaments and defense equipment, electronic and communication systems, optics & night vision, sensors, simulation equipment, security systems, field equipment, automotive, mechanical components, forging, cutting tools and machinery. /212 End
