INTRO: An attack north of Baghdad late Tuesday left two U-S soldiers dead and another injured. The deaths pushed to 117 the number of American soldiers killed in Iraq since President Bush declared major combat operations over May 1st. V-O-A's Greg LaMotte has more from Baghdad.

TEXT: Two soldiers from the U-S 4th Infantry Division were killed and another was wounded when a roadside bomb detonated as their vehicle patrol was passing by. The incident occurred about 70-kilometers north of Baghdad.

Also on Tuesday, seven Ukrainian soldiers were wounded south of Baghdad when a roadside bomb exploded as their patrol was passing by. Afterwards the patrol came under attack from gunfire.

There are more than 15-hundred Ukrainian soldiers in the Polish-led multi-national force that operates in central and southern Iraq. (SIGNED)
