Pakistan sets up 100 check posts along Afghan border - daily

Islamabad, Oct 28, IRNA - Pakistan Army has set up over one hundred check-posts along the border with Afghanistan to check illegal movements across the border. According to The Frontier Post daily, that under a strategy, an effective system of intelligence, patrols and inspections had been set up to check entry of unwanted elements. The newspaper said that during the ongoing operation in tribal belt, bordering Afghanistan, as many as 240 suspected elements of Al-Qaeda and Taliban had been apprehended. The locals, the daily said, fully cooperated with the forces and promised not to provide shelter to suspected elements. The operation was launched, a few weeks back to flush out what the government believed were remnants of Al-Qaeda and Taliban. MHA/TSH/211 End
