Secretary meets with People's Republic of China

            The U.S. Secretary of Defense and the Minister of National Defense of the People’s Republic of China met in Washington today.

 

            During their meeting, Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and General Gangchuan Cao discussed a wide range of global and regional security issues including the state of bilateral military relations between the U.S. and China. 

 

            The talks were described as productive and constructive.

 

            Both sides have agreed to arrange further visits of the military leaders in 2004.
