US Air Force Awards Lockheed Martin Low Power Filter Modernization Contract

Marlton, NJ, October 10th, 2003 -- The US Air Force Warner Robins Air Logistics Center has awarded Lockheed Martin a task order to modernize the AWACS low power filter.

The base award is for research and development with options to purchase up to 1200 units. Initial funding for the task order is $ 5.2 million. Total potential value is $47 million over 5 years. This competitive bid was awarded under the FAST IDIQ contracting vehicle.

Lockheed Martin will provide program management and will design electronics to enable technology insertion that increases reliability of the filter and reduces the life cycle cost.
