US, Afghanistan, Pakistan discuss border operations

Islamabad, Oct 10, IRNA - The tripartite commission comprising of
senior military and diplomatic representative of Afghanistan, Pakistan
and the United States held its fourth meeting in Rawilpindi Friday.
It discussed the effectiveness of ongoing operations in the
border region and the progress on efforts to enhance communication,
according to official APP news agency.
The commission received several briefings, including plans for
the training and deployment of the Afghan Border Police Security
Force.
It also considered the establishment of a sub-committee to
further coordinate counter-terrorism activities in the border areas,
including military operations.
The sub-committee established on July 29th 2003 was commissioned
to pay an early visit to the border area of Muhamand Agency and submit
its report to the fifth meeting of the tripartite commission.
The fifth meeting of the commission will be held on 15 November
in Kabul.
