BAE SYSTEMS Awarded $7.2 Million Contract To Manufacture Explosives For U.S. Army

BAE Systems has been awarded a $7.2 million contract by the U.S. Army to manufacture Composition C-4 Class 3 explosives. This is in addition to an existing contract valued at $5.7 million.
Under the new contract, BAE Systems Ordnance Systems will manufacture 982,159 pounds of C-4 Class 3 explosives to support various Army ordnance programs. Work is expected to be completed by October 2004, and will be performed at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant by BAE Systems Ordnance Systems employees in Kingsport, Tennessee.
