Kunsan F-16C crashes

KUNSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea - A U.S. Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon crashed into the Yellow Sea approximately 56 miles southwest of Kunsan Air Base at 10:05 a.m. Sept. 9.

At the time of the accident the aircraft, assigned to the 35th Fighter Squadron, was on a routine training mission.

The pilot, Capt. Kevin Dydyk, ejected safely and was recovered by a Republic of Korea Air Force HH-47 from Cheon Gju Air Base. He arrived at Kunsan at noon and was transported to the 8th Medical Group clinic where he was reported to be in good condition.
