Kashmiri leader asks Pakistan to internationalise Kashmir issue
IRNA
Islamabad, Sept 9 -- Chief of Jamaat-i-Islami Azad Jammu & Kashmir (Pakistan-controlled Kashmir) Sardar Ejaz Afzal Khan urged Pakistan Tuesday not to adhere to the dialogue offer by India and fulfil its mission in raising the Kashmir issue on the international forum. "New Delhi wants to declare Kashmir as a bilateral issue between both the countries. Vajpayee`s dialogue offer on April 18 was a step towards this direction," Ejaz said while addressing a press conference after arriving from his three weeks visit of Spain, Chili, Angola, Germany, Norway and Britain. "India is not interested in serious dialogue on Kashmir issue. That is why she is not in favour of internationalising this issue." "Islamabad should work for the projection of Kashmir issue on international fora," Ejaz said. He said that declaring the Kashmir freedom movement tantamount to `terrorism` or dubbing it as `cross-boarder infiltration` are the steps through which New Delhi has been trying to lead the international community up the garden path. Ejaz asked India to accept the disputed nature of Kashmir. He also said that a parliamentary delegation of Germany is about to visit Kashmir in order to eye up the whole situation and make awareness about the issue. TK/TSH/215 End
