Polish defense minister due in Tehran Saturday night

Tehran, Aug 30, IRNA -- Polish Minister of Defense Jerzy Szmajdzinski is to arrive here Saturday night to discuss various issues of mutual interest, Iran`s Ministry of Defense and Logistics of the Armed Forces said here on Saturday. Szmajdzinski, heading a high-ranking defense-security delegation, is to visit Iran to expand bilateral ties in the fields of defense and security cooperation. The two sides are to exchange views on possible ways to reduce tension in the Middle East region as well as cooperation of various countries in the establishment of regional and international security. The two-day visit is the first trip by a Polish defense minister to the country since the 1979 victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. SF/210 End
