U.S. Joint Chiefs Chair Myers Visits Latin America
General will thank counterparts for contributions to Iraqi operations
General Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, embarked on a trip to Latin America on August 11, according to a Defense Department press release.
Myers will visit El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Colombia during his trip and thank his counterparts for their contributions to Operation Iraqi Freedom, the press release said.

Gen. Richard B. Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, left Washington, D.C., on Monday, Aug. 11, 2003, for Latin America. During this trip he will travel to El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Colombia. Meyers will express thanks to his counterparts and other government officials for their contributions in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He will also discuss issues of mutual interest and security concerns. While in the region, Myers will meet with U.S. and foreign troops.
