3rd PERSONNEL GROUP TO DEACTIVATE AT FORT HOOD

The 3rd Personnel Group will formally deactivate in a 9 a.m. ceremony Wednesday (July 9) at Fort Hood.

The ceremony will be conducted in front of the III Corps headquarters building.

As a major subordinate command under III Corps, the 3rd Personnel Group was responsible for providing personnel services to all of the corps units located at Fort Hood.

The units comprising the 3rd Personnel Group include the 15th Personnel Services Battalion, the 546th Personnel Services Battalion, the 502nd Personnel Services Battalion, the 21st Replacement Company, and the 151st Postal Company.

All of the 3rd Personnel Group units will now be assigned to other commands on the installation, and will continue to provide services directly to those organizations.

The commander of the 3rd Personnel Group, Col. Ronald P. Higham, Jr., will be reassigned as the U.S. Joint Forces Command J-1. The Command Sergeant Major of the 3rd Personnel Group, Command Sgt. Maj. Annette Joseph, has been named as the next Command Sergeant Major of the Noncommissioned Officer Academy at Fort Hood.
