
Kazakhstan: President Completes Formation Of New Government
Astana, 16 June 2003 (RFE/RL) -- Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbaev today filled the last open posts in the new government.
Nazarbaev named Yerbolat Dosaev to be finance minister and Astana Mayor Adilbek Jaksybekov was named minister of trade and industry.
Nazarbaev also replaced the secretary of the country's Security Council, Omarkhan Oksikbaev, with his deputy Bulat Utemuratov. Oksikbaev was named to head the country's budget implementation committee
Nazarbaev reappointed the ministers of justice, health, labor, transport, and culture. Other appointments were made on 14 June.
Former Prime Minister Imanghali Tasmaghambetov resigned last week over a dispute on the country's proposed law on private land ownership.
