H-60 simulator unveiled

Capt. Jim Pendly, Helicopter Anti Submarine Warfare Squadron commodore at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, and Sam Cahoon, maritime program manager for Lockheed Martin Manassas, unveil a new and upgraded SH-60F/HH-60H simulator recently in Jacksonville. The simulator is a training device that provides the Navy's warfighters the ability to practice combat search and rescue missions incorporating forward looking infrared radar, Hellfire missiles, and survivability equipment. A second SH-60F/HH-60H simulator is located at Naval Air Station San Diego. Personnel from NAVAIR's Aviation Training Systems Program (PMA-205) were on the integrated product team. Other team members came from NAVAIR Orlando, the Atlantic and Pacific wings of the HS squadrons, Lockheed Martin, CAE, and Evans & Sutherland. Below, those in attendance for the ribbon cutting in Jacksonville were able to get an up-close look at the simulator.
