Robertson to Meet Bush, Attend Meeting on NATO-Ukraine Relations

NATO Secretary General Lord Robertson will visit Washington May 4-5
where he will address the Conference on NATO-Ukraine Relations and
also meet with President Bush, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld,
Secretary of State Colin Powell, and members of Congress.
Lord Robertson will visit Montréal and Ottawa on May 6.

NATO SECRETARY GENERAL, LORD ROBERTSON, TO VISIT THE UNITED STATES AND
CANADA
The Secretary General of NATO, Lord Robertson, will visit Washington,
DC on Sunday 4 May and Monday 5 May 2003. He will visit Montréal and
Ottawa on Tuesday 6 May 2003.
In Washington, he will participate in the Conference on NATO-Ukraine
Relations, co-organized by NATO and the Center for Strategic and
International Studies, where he will deliver an opening address and
participate in a joint press conference with Mr. Marchuk, Secretary of
the Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council. The Secretary
General will have bilateral meetings with Mr. Marchuk and Ukrainian
Defence Minister General Volodymyr Shkidchenko and other NATO Defence
Ministers attending the conference.
Lord Robertson will also meet President George Bush, Secretary of
Defense Donald Rumsfeld, and Secretary of State Colin Powell. In
addition, he will meet members of the Senate Foreign Relations and
Senate Armed Services Committees.
In Canada, the Secretary General will attend the Conférence de
Montréal, where he will deliver a keynote speech and hold a press
conference. In Ottawa, he will meet Prime Minister Jean Chrétien and
Minister of Defense John McCallum.
