NORFOLK, Va. (NNS) -- The "Tomcatters" of Fighter Squadron (VF) 31 will return to Naval Air Station Oceana May 2 following their record-setting deployment aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The squadron left Oceana in July 2002 and will have been deployed for nearly 10 months when they return.

The squadron's 10 F-14 Tomcats will return, along with 20 pilots and radar intercept officers. The remainder of squadron support personnel will return home later.
