General Dynamics Awarded $10 Million Contract for Telecommunications Support
NEEDHAM, Mass. – General Dynamics Network Systems has been awarded a $10 million contract for the base communications operations and maintenance at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Weapons Division in China Lake, Calif. The multi-year contract is valued at $4 million for the first two years and provides for three, one-year options at $2 million per year. General Dynamics Network Systems is a business unit in the General Dynamics Information Systems and Technology group.
General Dynamics will provide a wide range of experienced technical and administrative support to the NAVAIR China Lake telecommunication system, including program management; switch maintenance; cable plant maintenance; return and repair services and reconfiguration management. The contract can also support customer needs for switch expansion, software upgrades, and technical training.
This competitive delivery order was awarded under the Department of the Navy's Voice, Video, and Data (ViViD) contract, an indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity contract used by the Navy and other Department of Defense agencies for procuring IT products and services needed to modernize base and shipboard telecommunications infrastructures.
“This award exemplifies General Dynamics Network Systems’ leadership in providing services and support for switching systems to the DoD,” said Dan Allen, a vice president of General Dynamics Network Systems. “NAVAIR China Lake is one of 200 worldwide DoD locations where we’ve demonstrated our ability to manage enterprise-wide operations and maintenance services.”
