Camp Commando, Kuwait(February 28, 2003) -- Living Support Area 1, Kuwait- Marines with 1st Battalion, 4th Marines recently came ashore Monday at Living Area Support 1 in northern Kuwait.
Approximately 400 Marines landed at LSA 1 after spending 36 days at sea aboard the USS Boxer, USS Dubuque, and the USS Comstock.The Marines were flown in on CH-53 Super Stallions and CH-46 Sea Knights, which can carry 12-18 personnel on board with a combat load.
The unit is meeting up with more than 50,000 U.S. Marines in the area where they will prepare for a possible war with the Iraqi regime.
