Diehl and Rheinmetall agree to co-operate in microwave technology

Germany's Rheinmetall W&M GmbH and Diehl Munitionssysteme GmbH & Co. KG have signed an agreement to work closely together in the domain of military and civil high power microwave (HPM) applications. By bringing together knowledge and skills accumulated over many years, the two companies – both leaders in the field – will now be able to offer a wide range of applications from a single source. Rheinmetall W&M is a subsidiary of Rheinmetall DeTec AG.
Because it presents an array of entirely new operational possibilities to military commanders and anti-terror SWAT teams alike, both parties to the agreement see HPM technology as a highly promising area of future activity. In the case of several potential applications, quickly deployable solutions are already available today which could substantially enhance the security of military and law enforcement operations.
