- VENEZUELA/CRISIS VOA 2 Feb 2003 -- In Venezuela, hundreds-of-thousands of people took to the streets and plazas again on Sunday in support of a petition drive they hope will lead to early elections to remove President Hugo Chavez from power. They say, they easily surpassed the 15 percent of registered voters required by the constitution to begin an amendment process. But the embattled Mr. Chavez shows no sign of giving in.

- UNICEF/AFGHAN/TETANUS VOA 02 Feb 2003 -- The U-N Children's Fund is starting a weeklong campaign to immunize thousands of Afghan women against tetanus. This is part of a global campaign to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus by 2005. UNICEF says health workers aim to reach 740-thousand Afghan women aged 15 to 45.
