BAE SYSTEMS delivers command application to NATO
11 Nov 2002
BAE Systems C4ISR has delivered a further development of the GP3 command support application to the NATO Allied Command Europe Rapid Reaction Corps' (ARRC), supporting the retention of the latter's certification as a High Readiness Force (Land).
The Christchurch, United Kingdom, based team produced the new Release 4 of GP3, enhancing its situational awareness and planning capability specifically in the areas of mapping and symbology, within the contracted timescale.
Building on the successful experience already gained with earlier releases during the NATO accreditation exercise, ARRCADE GUARD '02, in March, GP3 Release 4 will now be employed in the forthcoming exercise ARRCADE FUSION '02 in November this year.
GP3 provides flexible command support to assist commanders and staffs at headquarters to carry out G2 (Intelligence) and G3 (Operations/Plans) functions. The application provides significant situational awareness, orders and plan dissemination capabilities in support of deployed Headquarters.
The ability to co-ordinate and monitor battlespace activities is a key enabler in the modern Army's challenge of getting inside the opposition's decision cycle. GP3 is designed to be hosted on modern MS-based windows client/server infrastructures utilising wide area networks for inter-headquarters communications. It has been designed to be extensible and configurable, enabling it to adapt to a wide range of infrastructure requirements within a network enhanced military capability environment.
