USS La Jolla Returns Home from WESTPAC

PEARL HARBOR, HI--USS La Jolla (SSN 701) returned to Pearl Harbor recently after completing a successful six-month deployment to the Western Pacific. The attack submarine conducted operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
The crew was able to explore some foreign ports including Guam, Sasebo, Okinawa, Yokosuka and Brisbane, Australia.
"The crew performed flawlessly during this intense deployment," said Cmdr. Phillip Sawyer, commanding officer of USS La Jolla. "Now our focus is spending time with our families and a well-deserved stand down period."
