Thales to deploy SIGLE, the French Navy's new logistic information system
18 October 2002
The French Navy's Fleet Support Service (SSF) has awarded Thales Naval France a contract to deliver and deploy the SIGLE logistic information and management system.
The programme, worth around '35 million, will involve equipping some 82 vessels plus several ports in metropolitan France and French territories. When operational, SIGLE will give the Navy a state-of-the-art logistic information system.
The solution proposed by Thales Naval France and Thales Information Systems, in collaboration with Cisia Ingénierie and Égide, combines an innovative system architecture and improved data recovery methods. "We are proud both of this collaboration and of this new tool which will improve the logistics chain serving our vessels," said SSF Director Jean-Paul Panié.
This contract positions Thales as a major player in naval logistic information systems in France and internationally.
