General Dynamics Receives $6.3 Million Order for Improved Chemical Agent Monitor

BURLINGTON, Vt. – General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), received a $6.3 million order, an exercised option to an existing contract, for Improved Chemical Agent Monitors from the U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.

The Improved Chemical Agent Monitor is a lightweight, handheld monitor that detects low levels of nerve and mustard agents. The monitor has been in production since 1995 at the General Dynamics DeLand, Fla., operation. Over 13,000 units have been produced to date for the U.S. Army. This order extends production through December 31, 2003.

General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products provides a broad range of system solutions for military and commercial applications. The company designs, develops and produces high-performance armament systems; a full range of advanced composite-based products utilizing various production capabilities; biological and chemical detection systems; tactical deception equipment; and mobile shelter systems.
