
ATK and Hill Air Force Base Enter into Composite Structures Partnering Agreement

Minneapolis, Sept. 23, 2002 – ATK (Alliant Techsystems, NYSE: ATK) said ATK Composites, Clearfield, Utah, and the U.S. Air Force Ogden Air Logistics Center (OO-ALC) Depot Maintenance Activity Group, Hill Air Force Base, Utah, have signed a formal partnering agreement to further the advancement of composite fabrication technology and improve the affordability of composite structures.
As part of the agreement, ATK Composites and the OO-ALC Advanced Composites Office will share equipment and resources.

"This partnership will allow us to leverage each other’s capabilities to add value to our products and ultimately pass on those benefits to our customers."

OO-ALC (www.hill.af.mil) is the Air Force Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence (CITE) for stealth aircraft structural composite materials. In addition to supporting the B-2 Spirit multi-role bomber, the center provides worldwide engineering and logistics management for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt, Minuteman III and Peacekeeper intercontinental ballistic missiles. The base currently performs depot maintenance of the F-16, A-10 and C-130 Hercules aircraft.
