USS Louisville (SSN 724) Departs for Six-month Deployment

The attack submarine USS Louisville left for a six-month deployment to the Western Pacific Sept. 10.
"A submarine is always preparing for its next six-month deployment," said Cmdr. Michael E. Jabaley, USS Louisville commanding officer. "We have spent a lot of time training and had two major maintenance periods over the last six months. The crew is more than ready to take this magnificent ship to sea."
USS Louisville was commissioned in Nov. 1986 and is complemented with a crew of 130 men. It is among the most capable platforms in the world and is equipped with ADCAP Torpedoes and Tomahawk Missiles. The submarine will operate in support of Enduring Freedom.
