10 July 2002
Eolane and Thales Communications have agreed to Eolane's acquisition of Thales Communications' industrial activities at Marcq en Baroeul. The agreement was signed on 1 July 2002.
The production site of Marcq en Baroeul Industrie, outside Lille, employs 185 staff and generates an annual turnover of EUR 30 million.
The new company created by Eolane is called Altrel. It has acquired all the current activities of the Centre Electronique de Marcq en Baroeul (CEM): design, production planning, and production of boards and equipment (mainly modems and military switching products).
This agreement confirms Eolane's policy of development and consolidation. With this operation, Eolane strengthens and extends its design and production competencies and acquires a high-quality facility for the integration and testing of short and medium runs of complex products.
Eolane's current process of achieving synergies in purchasing, techniques and marketing between Selco, Eurintel and Selem will continue with a view to enhancing overall competitiveness.
