Lockheed Martin Announces Team for Defense Department Personnel and Pay System Contract

OWEGO, NY, May 8th, 2002 -- Lockheed Martin today announced it has formed an expert team to compete for a contract to develop a personnel and pay system for the U.S. Department of Defense. The Defense Integrated Military Human Resources System (DIMHRS) will support more than 3 million military personnel from all components of the Armed Services using PeopleSoft® commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software. Under the program, managed by the U.S. Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), 81 legacy systems will be replaced across the military services. The new integrated system will provide accurate and timely personnel and pay data, offer real-time access to benefits information, and enable service members to update personal information. Contract award is expected in June with the U.S. Army becoming the first service to complete initial operational capability. Full deployment of the system across all services is expected by the end of fiscal year 2006.

Lockheed Martin is bidding as the prime contractor with teammates including Deloitte Consulting, Resource Consultants Inc., Affiliated Computer Services and Enterprise Solutions Group. The Lockheed Martin-led team also includes affiliations with InfoReliance, Intersect Technologies, the University of New Orleans and several small Louisiana technology businesses. This team was selected for its unsurpassed military personnel and pay knowledge, PeopleSoft implementation experience, and the technical integration skills required to provide men and women in uniform with the world's largest Human Resources (HR) system.

"Lockheed Martin has significant experience and a record of solid performance providing systems solutions to the military, and we are looking forward to leveraging that knowledge to provide the Department of Defense a state-of-the-art, COTS military personnel and pay system," said Peter Rogers, vice president of Systems Solutions at Lockheed Martin Systems Integration - Owego. "With its team of functional experts, world-class systems integration capability and experienced technical professionals, the Lockheed Martin team is well positioned to offer the best solution for the best value."
